Smartwatch
Bookworm pairs with a smartwatch so your current book, your daily goal ring and your streak are one wrist-flick away. The watch is a remote control for the reading timer that already lives on your account — start a session on your wrist, and it shows up on your phone and on the web instantly.
Your watch never asks for your email or password. Pairing happens through a 6-digit code that expires in five minutes.
Pairing a Watch
Section titled “Pairing a Watch”There are two ways in. Scanning a QR code is the quickest — nothing gets typed on either device.
Scanning a QR code (no typing)
Section titled “Scanning a QR code (no typing)”- Open the Bookworm app on your watch. With no account connected, it opens on the Not connected screen.
- Tap Scan QR code. The watch shows a QR code that lasts 5 minutes.
- Point your phone’s camera at it — any camera app works — and open the link.
- Sign in if you aren’t already. Check that the 4-character code on the page matches the one under the QR on your watch, then tap Connect.
- Go back to your watch. It picks up the connection within a few seconds.
Typing a 6-digit code
Section titled “Typing a 6-digit code”Prefer numbers, or your camera won’t cooperate?
- Generate a code: on the web go to Connect a watch at bookwormtracker.com/watch and tap Generate code; in the phone app open Profile, scroll to Integrations and tap Pair in the Watch card.
- On the watch, tap Type a code, then tap the row of dashes to bring up the number keypad.
- Type the 6 digits and tap Connect.
What You See on Your Wrist
Section titled “What You See on Your Wrist”- Your current book — title and the page you’re on.
- The daily goal ring — how far along you are on today’s pages or minutes.
- Your streak — how many days in a row you’ve read.
- The timer — elapsed time of a session in progress, even one you started on your phone.
Controlling the Timer
Section titled “Controlling the Timer”From the watch you can start a session, pause it, resume it and finish it. When you finish, the watch asks for the page you stopped on and logs the session on your account — the same session you’d see if you had used the phone.
Because the timer lives on your account and not on the watch, the elapsed time stays correct even if the screen turns off, the app closes, or Bluetooth drops for a while.
Managing Paired Watches
Section titled “Managing Paired Watches”Every watch you pair gets its own key, listed under Paired watches on the web and in the Watch card in the app. Tap Disconnect to revoke a single device without touching the others — useful if you sell a watch or lose one.
Connection
Section titled “Connection”The watch reaches Bookworm through your phone. Keep the watch’s companion app installed and running — if it’s closed, your watch shows the last synced data with a note telling you how old it is, instead of an empty screen.
